Overcoming emptiness.


The lack of energy from an absence of inner wholeness. It's  no difference with the heart being at war with the mind. The emptiness might grow from slowly abandoning ourselves, not listening to our own hope and desires. Abandoning yourself unknowingly or unintentionally because you are striving for perfection or others' approval, you might stop caring for yourself and it can spark anxiety, guilt, depression and shame. The sight of the world turning against you is filled In the memory, not caring about much, not being interested in things, not feeling fueled by anything in particular. 


The thought of those excitement when one had so much energy. That burning feeling of energy deep down in the stomach. That excitement running through the body. Life was just around with positive emotions pacing wild. It was wonderful.

Where has it gone? How did one lose it? Is it ever coming back? 



Emptiness is a mechanism to point us to a purpose. The question is, " what will we fill ourselves with?" For a car to run properly, it must be filled with the right gas. Great friendship, meaningful work, a fun hobby, a loving spouse, children or grandchildren are the healthy things that can help us fill the void. The mistake of counting on them for our maximum happiness must not be made. 


Overcoming the emptiness.


Dealing with emptiness is resilient, but possible to entirely remove the feeling. A group counseling session will be of good consideration. It creates certain awareness psychologically and gives the chance to interact. A counseling session is a process, it isn't a day thing. It's the best recommendation a person with the feeling of emptiness could obtain.


Exploring what sets one's soul on fire could be a great way to overcome the feeling of emptiness as well. Goal setting, step taken, effort making  brings  emotional and mental self fulfillment. No one hand's it (fulfillment) over on a silver platter. Being fulfilled will make one feel much better.


A weak sense of self can lead to borderline personality disorder (BPD). BPD can be treated effectively with professional guidance, consulting a mental health professional. Therapy can help, it helps explore the causes of one's feelings and permits one to make their own decisions on implementing positive change. A personality test (Big Five or Myer Briggs)helps to learn about one's personality and its impact on thinking, feeling and behavior, which should be considered. Identification of one's core values can provide a good sense of one's self. 


Hmm! The feeling of emptiness, what if it's just a message or signal to guide us along this life? Or those emotions were actually planned to help guide us to a full and gratifying life? Like it's said, "the usefulness of pot lies in its emptiness." We don't get rid of a pot when it's empty, eventually we will need the pot to boil water to cook. Buckets and cups were all designed for something and so are we. We are designed to function ourselves.

Creative writing is an art which brings about expressing ideas and thought in an imaginative way. Creative Writing isn't done by art students alone. Any literate person can dive into writing. At the same time no one can pick a book and pen and write without having some basic knowledge. I never believed I would end up writing because I was always criticised whenever I utter the statement " I want to become a writer". I eventually found out why I was criticised, with this three valid keys: Reading: Like an older brother would say to me " the secret to creative writing is to read.
